ZTE to release Light Tab android tablet in Japan

ZTE's new Android tablet is about to enter the Japanese market. Dubbed as the "Light Tab", the device offers 800 x 480 touchscreen display, a 600MHz Qualcomm MSM7227 CPU, a 512MB of RAM and run on Android 2.2 OS.


It also equipped with 3.0-megapixel camera, microSD card slot (up to 32GB), 3G, WiFi, GPS and 3400 mAh battery.

Price tag at 39,800 Yen ($ 484) (Releasing this Friday in Japan).

$500 seems a little steep for a mini iPad more or less running Linux...That and there is some pretty steep competition form Samsung with the Galaxy. I'll be surprised if ZTE manages to make any traction with this offering
