The statements of assets and liabilities of the Senators in the Philippines as of December 2007 was been released. I have some doubts on the declared assets of some of the Senators.
Senate President Manuel Villar still holds the rank as the richest legislator in the land with a declared assets of P1,041,383.946 with no liabilities while detained former Navy Lieutenant and now Senator Antonio Trillanes IV is the “poorest senator,” with P2.6 million.
Rank no.2 is the controversial (inheritance issue with her family) Senator Ma. Ana Consuelo "Jamby" Madrigal with a net worth of more than P146 million followed by Sen. Ramon Revilla Jr. with P118 million.
Manuel Roxas II is rank no.4 in the list with an assets of P110,634, 079 but he also declared a liabilities worth P61.7 million.
