Sony has New version for 3.41 Firmware, fixing PS3 hard drive problems

Sony quickly fixed the original "3.41" firmware by releasing an updated 3.41 new version PS3’s firmware (released August 2 - the version number does not change).

The previous 3.41 firmware which was released late last month was causing some problem when upgrading their console’s hard drive. The update stops in some occasions.

Sony wrote, “We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused, and appreciate your understanding and continued support.”

iOS 4 is now available; New features

Apple servers are surely under heavy load with the availability of iOS 4 software update for your our iPhone or iPod Touch.

Some users are experiencing slow downloads, server connections problems and iTunes error which means huge number of people are very eager to download it and experience the new features.

The latest iOS4 will deliver different features like Multi-tasking, which lets the users to switch and run between third party apps without requiring them to exit.

The new Folders feature enables the users to manage and organize his favorite apps in separate folders. You can "drag and drop" up to 180 apps into customized folders.

The new feature in the email helps you manages all messages from all the accounts in a unified inbox and it will also let you manage emails by thread and open attachment in third party apps.

Another feature is the iBooks apps which is also available in the iPad. In is an eBook reader plus it allow you to purchase and browse new books via the App Store. Capable of syncing with your iPad.

Photo and Camera improvements adds 5x digital zoom when taking a photo and tap to focus during video recording. Sync Faces from iPhoto plus geo-tagging.

Mobile advertising platform (iAd) which Apple will sell and host the ads, sharing 60% of revenue from the ad with the developer. Hmmm...

Some other mentionable features are playlists creation without looking into the iTunes, spell checking, MobileMe calendar sharing and Wireless keyboard support.

Opera Mini for the iPhone

Opera Software officially submitted their "Opera Mini" browser for iPhone at Apple's iPhone App store yesterday March 23, 2010. According to early reviews, web page loading is much faster with this new browser. BTW, checkout Opera Mini's speed and performance against Safari browser in the vclip below....

Windows XP Mode RC Now Available for Download

Windows XP Mode for Windows 7 which is designed for application compatibility to run in a virtual version of Windows XP within Windows 7, has now entered Release Candidate status.

The XP Mode project was designed for small and medium sized businesses to have an easy transition from Windows XP to Windows 7.

In Windows XP Mode, copy of Windows XP is installed as a virtual PC in Windows 7.
New Features in Windows XP Mode RC

Based on feedback from the Windows XP Mode beta, we’ve made several improvements to the usability of Windows XP Mode for small and medium-sized business users:
  • You can now attach USB devices to Windows XP Mode applications directly from the Windows 7 task-bar. This means your USB devices, such as printers and flash drives, are available to applications running in Windows XP Mode, without the need to go into full screen mode.
  • You can now access Windows XP Mode applications with a “jump-list”. Right click on the Windows XP Mode applications from the Windows 7 task bar to select and open most recently used files.
  • You now have the flexibility of customizing where Windows XP Mode differencing disk files are stored.
  • You can now disable drive sharing between Windows XP Mode and Windows 7 if you do not need that feature.
  • The initial setup now includes a new user tutorial about how to use Windows XP Mode.

Purity Ring App for iPhone

If you watched last year's MTV Music Awards, Russell Brand made fun mocking-bashing Jonas Brothers "purity rings" and Brand advised the trio that they should be taking advantage of their celebrity status to get laid.

It seems a UK software developer believes on the sanctity and devotion of saving themselves for marriage and it is a good idea to developed a digital reminder for this modern time, a "purity ring" application for Apple's iPhone.

For for £0.59 ($0.99), user can now pledge using the application and display a silver ring on their phone to prove their commitment to abstinence.

There's a built in pledge for both genders that contains a pre-recorded pledge that the user must confirm before being able to display their Ring on an infinite loop.

It will help spread awareness and served as a reminder to prevent the increasing number of pregnancies among teenage girls.

Continuing their strategy of attracting to be a PC user, Microsoft has launched the UK version of its latest "I'm a PC" campaign.

We have seen the cute 4 1/2 years-old little girl Kylie, now Microsoft UK use 5 year-old kid named Lewis which also encourages you how easy to use Windows Live Photo service in just simple clicks.

President Obama Inauguration Photosynths

CNN used Microsoft's Photosynth in the recent historic inauguration of President Barack Obama. As CNN encourages people who was at the inauguration to submit pics to create the Photosynth project.

The Photosynth technology is combining different images (2D photos) of the same thing to create and captures a sweeping scale of one big 3D scene.

uTorrent for Mac OS X - beta release

uTorrent has released a Mac alpha version few months back, now after some improvement they have released a beta version of this popular lightweight BitTorrent client.

As stated uTorrent Mac OS X 10.5 is in beta release, "This is beta software, and may contain serious bugs. We think it's stable enough to share and hope your feedback will help us improve it."

The release currently runs on Leopard/Intel Macs.

uTorrent released in the net in September 2005, and soon became the most widely used BitTorrent application.
