WCYF 2009


World Creative Youth Forum (WCYF) is a partnership project among organizations in the Philippines and in other countries. It was an idea conceptualized by HRH Prince Frederick Saxe-Lauenberg. The project is headed by Brotherhood of Destiny, Inc. (BROOD) and will happen on May 2009. In support of this event BROOD had launched an Earth Caravan to talk about the environment and the upcoming WCYF 2009.

This time we are calling on bloggers and websites to join the EARTH CYBER CARAVAN and talk about the environment and about World Creative Youth Forum 2009. The Electric Jeepney (E-Jeepney), a great alternative.

After a year of test run, the first e-Jeepneys (electric jeepneys) are now operational and they giving commuters free ride in Makati area.

This environment-friendly public transport are made by a local manufacturer, Motor Vehicle Parts Manufacturers Association of the Philippines (MVPMAP).

The unstoppable oil price hike really affects the Public transport system, with this technology it will be a great alternative. It will reduce air pollution, carbon emissions and will also provide more incomes to the drivers.

The route of the e-jeepneys is as follows:

In Salcedo Village – from Dela Costa St. turn right to Makati Ave., right to Paseo De Roxas, right to Villar St., left to Leviste St, left to Rufino St., right to Ayala Ave. and right to Dela Costa St.

Meanwhile, the route in Legazpi Village will be – from Salcedo St. turn right to VA Rufino St., left to Adelantado St., left to Gamboa St., left to Salcedo St., left to Benavidez St., left to Paseo De Roxas Ave., right to Legazpi St., left to Dela Rosa St., and left to Salcedo St

The Electric Jeepney concept is a component of GRIPP's Climate Friendly Cities Project, a multi-pronged initiative that aims to contribute to climate change mitigation, sustainable transport, and waste management by introducing renewable energy-based technologies.

World's First Solar Speedboat

Combining speed, ingenuity and because it is solar-powered, it's environment friendly.

Czeers MK1 prototype is being tagged as "the world's first solar speedboat". The Dutch creations can reached speeds of up to 30 knots.

According to Gizmag, Delft Technical University Solarboat Team built this 10-meter boat as an entry in the Nuon Frisian Solar challenge in which they won.

This is made from 100% carbon fiber inlaid with leather trim, photovoltaic cells on almost all horizontal surfaces and an LCD touch-screen control system.

12 Greenest Cars for 2008

This are the 12 environment friendly (greenest) cars tested and presented by American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE).

Honda Civic GX natural gas car tops this year's Greenest Cars and this is their fifth consecutive year receiving this recognition. The combination of high efficiency and near-zero emissions makes it the highest-ranking vehicle for the environment.

The Green scores was based on tailpipe emissions, fuel economy and other factors. The higher the score the more environmentally friendly it is.
