'Facebook' Mark Zuckerberg Donates $100 Million to New Jersey Schools
Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg will be releasing a very huge amount of monetary support to help the public school system. Zuckerberg is donating $100 million dollars to public schools in Newark, New Jersey.
Newark spends about $22,000 a year on each of its 40,000 pupils, but only about half of its students graduate. Of those who do, only one-fifth go on to four-year colleges. More than 85% of the Newark students at community colleges need remedial help in math and English.
The announcement will be made publicly Friday on The Oprah Winfrey Show.
Zuckerberg is listed at the thirty-fifth position in Forbes mag's annual list of wealthy Americans with a net worth of $6.9 billion dollars.
