The Electric Jeepney (E-Jeepney), a great alternative.

After a year of test run, the first e-Jeepneys (electric jeepneys) are now operational and they giving commuters free ride in Makati area.

This environment-friendly public transport are made by a local manufacturer, Motor Vehicle Parts Manufacturers Association of the Philippines (MVPMAP).

The unstoppable oil price hike really affects the Public transport system, with this technology it will be a great alternative. It will reduce air pollution, carbon emissions and will also provide more incomes to the drivers.

The route of the e-jeepneys is as follows:

In Salcedo Village – from Dela Costa St. turn right to Makati Ave., right to Paseo De Roxas, right to Villar St., left to Leviste St, left to Rufino St., right to Ayala Ave. and right to Dela Costa St.

Meanwhile, the route in Legazpi Village will be – from Salcedo St. turn right to VA Rufino St., left to Adelantado St., left to Gamboa St., left to Salcedo St., left to Benavidez St., left to Paseo De Roxas Ave., right to Legazpi St., left to Dela Rosa St., and left to Salcedo St

The Electric Jeepney concept is a component of GRIPP's Climate Friendly Cities Project, a multi-pronged initiative that aims to contribute to climate change mitigation, sustainable transport, and waste management by introducing renewable energy-based technologies.
